Autism Support

There are lots of ways you and your child with autism can be supported within the borough. There are play groups/support groups:

FELLGATE PARENT SUPPORT GROUP (Parent Support/Play group)

Thursdays, 4:15pm – 6pm, Pirates Cove.

ASD SUPPORT GROUP – Boldon Community Centre (Parent Support group)

Alternate Mondays, 5:15pm – 6:45pm.

SNIPS @ HARTON WELLNESS CENTRE (Whole family support)

Saturdays, 1:30pm – 4pm

KAYAKS @ MORTIMER CA (SEN support playgroup)
Run by friends of Bamburgh
Saturdays, 1pm – 4pm

TREASURED TOTS PLAY GROUP (Children aged 0 – 6yrs)

 Additional  Help

There are also 3 databases that you can get involved in:

South Tyneside Active Network – when you enrol you get a Max Card which allows your child free access to some leisure facilities, as well as free access for family members. The network also informs you of summer play schemes etc…

Dasl NE – keeps a database of families in the region and run some parent workshops at Newcastle University on ASD topics.

National Autistic Society – really useful database/website. Huge amount of information for parents and practitioners
