Live Simply School Launch

11th January 2024 By jongregg

Yesterday, in assembly, we launched our plan to become a LiveSimply school. We have registered our plan with CAFOD and are ready to try hard to make a difference to our world and the people in it. By committing to 9 faith inspired actions we will be reflecting the teachings of Jesus, Catholic Social Teaching and Laudato Si’.
Over the year ahead we will be learning about how we can live more simply, sustainably and in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world. We will share our ideas with you all and invite you to join us on our journey.
We have already started some of the projects. We visited our local care home at Christmas and entertained the residents. We will continue to build friendships there over the Spring and Summer. We also collected items for our local food bank. We will continue to do this at the end of each term.
To celebrate World Peace Day, which was on 1st January our pray focus this month will be peace. Please join us in our prayers for peace around the world.
God of love,
We pray for peace in our world, and an end to war.
Instead of hatred, let there be love.
Shelter your children and protect us.
Guide us and keep us from harm,
So we can build a world of love and live our lives in peace.
Amen.
