Catholic School Inspection (CSI) 2024

17th October 2024 By jongregg

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please find attached, a copy of our Catholic School Inspection (CSI) report.
Our most recent CSI took place on 26th and 27th September 2024; it was led by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate on behalf of the Right Reverend Stephen Wright, Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle.
We are delighted to share that our inspection report identified that Ss Peter and Paul is a ‘Good’ school with many ‘Outstanding’ features. The report clearly highlights that SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary School is a caring community, a ‘true oasis’ where all pupils flourish because they are valued and cared for. The pastoral care provided for pupils is described as exceptional and a real strength of our wonderful school.
We are delighted that the hard work, dedication and support of the whole school community has been recognised and celebrated.
We would like to thank all of our parents and carers for their positive and supportive comments made through the parent questionnaire, emails, phone calls and face to face conversations. Your children continue to be an absolute joy to teach; the inspectors acknowledged that our children are wonderful and their behaviour is exemplary.
I am very proud of them and our whole school community. Thank you again for your continued support.

Mrs Butt

Catholic Schools Inspectorate on 26th -27th September

24th September 2024 By jongregg

Dear Parent and Carers
https://forms.office.com/e/EHG659ABsH
The school is due to have an inspection undertaken by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate on 26th -27th September The inspection is both a diocesan and a statutory responsibility.
In the organisation of the Church, the bishop is the ‘first teacher’ in the diocese with responsibility for the formation and education of his people, with particular responsibilities in schools.  The inspectors working for the Inspectorate act on his behalf to fulfil this responsibility.
The purpose of inspection is to report to and advise the bishop on the quality of the Catholic life and mission of the school, of religious education and of collective worship. Of course, it also stands to inform parents and the wider Catholic community.
Inspectors will observe learning and acts of worship, talk to staff and pupils, analyse data, and discuss emerging issues with the school’s leadership. The inspection culminates in a written report that will be sent to you.
The view of parents is very important, and we shall be sharing with the inspectors any evidence we have of parents’ views of the school. The inspectors would also like to hear directly from you.  We appreciate that we have not given you very much time, but it would be helpful if you could complete the questionnaire, which can be accessed here https://forms.office.com/e/EHG659ABsH  Responses to the questionnaire go directly to the inspectors, are anonymous and individual responses cannot be identified.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the questionnaire. We look forward to sharing the outcomes of the inspection when the report has been received.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Maria Butt

BIG LENT WALK 2024

12th March 2024 By jongregg

Dear Parent/Carer,

Over the next 2 weeks we are taking part in the Big Lent Walk!

As a school community we are hoping to walk 200 km for CAFOD.

The event will take place at various times to fit in with the timetables of each class. The children can take part in their uniform – no special clothing is required as we will be walking to The West Park and back to school.

Please sponsor your child as they raise money to help fight global poverty.

If every child is sponsored £1 we will raise over £200!

You can sponsor them by donating to CAFOD using this link or by bringing £1 into school.
